Kathia Arias Vargas – Costa Rica

Kathia Arias grew up in Las Mellizas de Sabalito, a coffee-producing region in southern Costa Rica, where her father passed down his deep connection to coffee. After becoming the first in her family to attend university, she chose to return home to support her family and build a more sustainable future, aiming to enhance the value of their coffee and secure better opportunities.

At Finca Hermanos Arias, three generations work side by side, blending tradition with evolving practices. Kathia's journey is marked by perseverance and a strong belief in the role of women in coffee, despite challenges in a traditionally male-dominated field. Today, her work reflects a commitment to quality, community, and the vision of sharing her coffee and her land with the world.

Flavour Profile

A lively, fruity and floral cup. Notes of ripe pineapple and sparkling wine open with brightness, followed by citrusy orangina and a delicate, perfumed finish of rose. The profile is luminous and refined, with brilliant acidity and a light body that invites another sip.
